Change in accounting period

Hi,
I get the below error as we changed the accounting year end from 28 Feb to 31 Dec; so have 2 year ends in the same calendar year (prior year ending on 28 Feb and current period ending on 31 Dec). Is there a workaround?

Date validation failed: Prior period end year (2024) should not overlap with current period year (2024). Prior period should typically end in 2023
